Avery Wilson | 19 | Hannibal, Mo.
Avery Wilson, age 19, of Hannibal, MO and formerly of Barry, IL passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Hannibal, MO. This beautiful towheaded blonde boy was born on March 7, 2002 in Hannibal, MO.
Avery was very active in the Boy Scouts, receiving many badges and the golden arrow. He never knew a stranger and would gladly spend the evening with all adults discussing philosophy. This articulate and imaginative young man was adored by everyone he met. Avery was a chess player who could beat his grandma in four moves. He was an amazing musician who played guitar, bass guitar, piano, and trumpet. Avery enjoyed going to concerts with his mom and friends. He thought the world of him mom, his Justin, and his sister Attison.
Avery attended grade school and Jr. High in Belleville, IL. The family moved back to Pike County and he attended Western High School in Barry, IL. He completed his education through the HISET program in Hannibal, MO. After receiving his HISET, he was hired by GAMM to help others obtain job placement. He loved his job, and loved helping people. Avery loved the farm where he could mushroom hunt, fish, hunt, and explore with Grandpa and “Muncle”. He loved hanging out with his friends. He was smart and quick witted with a huge heart and a shining smile.
Avery is survived by his parents, Justin and Joanna (Collard) Puterbaugh of Barry, IL; sister, Attison Puterbaugh of Barry, IL; grandparents, Dennis and Pam Collard of Pleasant Hill, IL, Gayle and Kim Puterbaugh of Pleasant Hill, IL, Mike and Peggy Fee of Barry, IL, Steve and Lajoana Wilson of Spring, TX and Jeanette Ashcraft of TX; aunts and uncles, Dennison (AshLeigh) Collard of Pike Station, IL, Erin and Dustin Lammy of Hamburg, IL, Steven Clay Wilson of TX, Kate (Christian) Sinclair of Spring, TX; and numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, several great aunts and great uncles.
A Celebration of Life was held Friday, August 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Niebur Funeral Chapel where the visitation prior to the service from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to be made to The Trevor Project.
