Lady Eagles season underway for the fall season
GP Athletic Booster membership dues for the 2021-2022 school year are due now. Membership dues help pay for several things throughout the year. If you are not a member and would like to be, contact Jill Kunzeman.
Linda White has been released from Blessing Hospital and is currently at Illini Hospital. If you’re the praying kind, she will appreciate it!
Congratulations to GP’s Lady Eagles for starting their season off with a win! The Ladies defeated South County 17-10 Saturday, 7.
Lane Alex Hasselbring was baptized at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Congregation, Schwer, Sunday, Aug. 8. Lane is the son of Dane and Jacqueline (Bingham) Hasselbring of Cissna Park. Attending the special event were his grandparents Wayne and Kristine Bingham and Troy and Lynn Hasselbring, great-grandparents Ronald and Carolyn Myers, Roger and Dee Hasselbring, and Judy Hudgens, aunts and uncles; Daniel Bingham, Jennifer Bingham, Skyler and Allyson Sailors, Cole and Kendra Hasselbring, Austin and Samantha Kidwell, and Taylor Hasselbring, as well as lots of extended family.
Please notice that the open house at the Pike County Animal Shelter that was previously scheduled for Aug. 28 has been postponed! Stay tuned for further information. Sympathy is extended to the family of Richard Six of Easley, S. C. who passed away July 11 after a long battle with heart disease. Committal of ashes was Aug. 17 at Wilson Cemetery.The bus derby at the Western Illinois Fairgrounds drew an incredibly large crowd Saturday evening! Sympathy is also extended to the family of David Sappington of Pittsfield. Sometimes the best thing to do just be quiet and let God show them.
