Hello from Alsey. Well, school has started, Fall is all but here – where did the summer go? Soon the hummingbirds will be gone for another winter.
Remember our men and women in uniform and the leaders of our country in your prayers.

Pat Brown, 87 of Winchester, went sky diving at Taylorville on Sat. Her instructor was Greg Baglock. Congratulations Pat, this has been on her bucket list for a few years.
Alsey Baptist Church will host movie night on the last Sun. of each month at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome!
Cecil and Rosie Lyons became great grandparents to Aria Kay Beville, 5 lbs. and 6 oz. – 19 in. long, of Bushnell, Fla. Congratulations to Cecil and Rosie.
Queen of Heart drawing each Mon. at 7 p.m. at Grand Slam Bar and Grill (at the old school house) in Alsey. Proceeds go to Mandy’s Bark and Whine.
Barrow Baptist Church held their monthly Ladies Luncheon hosted by Judy Connor and Peggy Clemons. Carole Wells, Elsie Gibbs, Janet Coonrod and Janet Ingram along with Judy and Peggy enjoyed lunch, fellowship and games of bingo. The next luncheon will be held Sept. 15 at noon. All ladies are welcome.
Queen of Hearts drawing at Rose’s Cantina Main Street, Alsey, Ill. each Thurs. Night, 7 p.m. Jackpot $11,000. Tickets $1.00 each. Proceeds go to Scott County Dog Rescue.
Congratulations to Rachel Ryan who celebrated her 30th birthday skydiving at Taylorville on Friday.
The gals of Winchester High, Class of ‘59, met at The Olive Branch in Jacksonville for lunch on Wed. Present were Sonee Smith, Peggy Clemons, Betty Jefferson, Georgia Wilson and Linda Oswald.
