Mr. and Mrs. David and Charlotte Hamilton
David and Charlotte Hamilton will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 1.
They were married at Calvary Baptist Church with David’s father, then pastor of the Nebo Baptist Church, performing the ceremony. David’s parents are the late Floyd and LaVerne McGuire Hamilton of Pittsfield. Charlotte’s parents are the late Charles and Cecile Smith Foster of rural Pittsfield.
Over the 60 years of their married life, they have served in ministry with Baptist churches in Illinois, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma and Florida.
The focus of their ministry was serving as minister of education, executive pastor, lead pastor, and in later years, minister to senior adults. Charlotte was active in teaching young married women, ladies ministries, and as chairman of make-up for FBC Ft. Lauderdale and FBC Dallas Christmas Pageants.
David and Charlotte retired in 2004 and moved to their farm home west of Pittsfield. They continue to be involved in Senior Adult Community Bible Study and are active members at Pittsfield Nazarene Church. They enjoy hosting many friends and family gatherings at their Pittsfield city residence.
David and Charlotte are the parents of John (Diane) Hamilton of Pittsfield, Linda (Darryl) Sterne of Hico, Texas and Mark (Cathy) Hamilton of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Waynesville, NC. They have five grandchildren: Crystal (Kory) McAllister of Pittsfield, Evan (Rachel Houston) Hamilton of Irving, Texas, Emily (Nathan) Newton of Mt. Sterling, Natalie (Cory) Roseberry of Pittsfield, and Kati (Shawn) Gibson of Palm City, Fla. Their 10 great-grandchildren are Weston and Nate McAllister of Pittsfield, Kilyn Oxley and Kolbie and Mae Newton of Mt. Sterling, Striker and Lander Hamilton of Irving, Texas, Jordyn and Kamryn Roseberry of Pittsfield, and Layla Jane Gibson of Palm City, Fla.
