• All day fish fry at the Pike County Fairgrounds in Pleasant Hill, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m.. Full meal or just a sandwich. At 7:30 p.m., the band Whiskey River will play in the newly renovated beer garden. Proceeds go to the fair.

• DAR Nancy Ross Chapter members invite the public to hear Mr. Lloyd Lawber talk about his years as a veteran as well as the All-Wars Museum. The meeting will be at the museum (320 North Illinois Street, Pittsfield) on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
