Randy Lomelino | 67 | Palmyra

 

Randy Lomelino, age 67, of Palmyra, Ill. died early Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.

He was born April 10, 1954 in Carlinville, Ill. son of the late Mervin and Elzora Hamm Lomelino.

Surviving are his children, a daughter, Cari Westbury (Tim) of Valparaiso, IN. and a son Shane Lomelino of Palmyra, Il.; his companion, Melissa Allen of Palmyra, Il. his longtime caregiver and friend, Giselle Burg of Waverly, Il.; a brother, Ronald Lomelino (Nancy) of Roodhouse, Il.; a sister, Pam Fisher of Springfield, Il.: four grandchildren, Abbey, Trinity, Kayla and Tate; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Troy, Michael, and Jack; and a beautiful granddaughter, Brookelyn Lomelino.

The few years Randy was away from Palmyra, Randy worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, Il. and ran the Zoo Bar in Palmyra, Il.   In his later years, he was an avid antique hunter and enjoyed spending days on the hunt for the next big find.  Randy grew up and spent most of his adult life in Palmyra, Il.  His past time was spent riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, spending time with family, and helping friends.  He lived with pride and loved his family.  For those that knew him, you knew he “flew like a butterfly, stung like a bee…his name was Randy!”.  Randy lived life his way.

Services will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and sent to Stults-Neece Chapel, 349 E.
