What a great Sunday to begin a fresh September week with and it was good to gather together with the family of God this morning. We opened with several great songs from our hymnals and yes we still use our hymnals as many other places of worship have replaced them with wide screen tv’s on the walls.
Some of the songs out the hymnals-Love the songs of the cross:
• “Beneath theCross”
• “Near the Cross”
• “The Old Rugged Cross”
If Jesus had not died on the cross there would be no forgiveness of man’s sins. Our service this morning centered around the Lord’s table as we celebrated “His supper.” We all have a dinner table of some fashion with long-short-round-squared-chairs-stools-benches and the dinner table is a place of gathering. In the upper room Jesus gathered with twelve of his closest friends and among them was a traitor who betrayed Jesus for money. This someone denied Jesus three times. As we come to this table we are to take bread and juice in remembrance of Jesus until he comes back for His church. Our recent prayer requests are Jodi/Farrell-for the unspoken-Denny death in family-Ava/Dan-George and Sandy Campbell. Wednesday evening bible study has resumed at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and join us in a study of Ephesians.
