Only a few short weeks ago, Jerseyville City Center gained a new and exciting business, Savvy Tech. Ricky and Erin Threet, owners of Savvy Tech, are thrilled to be opening doors in our lovely community.
Ricky, President and the man behind the tech, has lived in Jerseyville since he was four years old. He was born in Peoria, but has always called Jerseyville ‘home sweet home’. Erin, Vice President of Savvy Tech and of West Elementary PTO, has lived in town since 2009 and is originally from Taylorville.
This family owned and operated company originally opened in early 2020 in Springfield, IL. Due to the unfortunate outbreak of local riots and the hardships brought on by COVID-19 mandates, the couple was forced to shut the doors after only 8 months of opening up the storefront. The business still thrived as they worked from home and out of their work trucks as they still had many clients that depended on them.
“We were up there sleeping in the back room to protect the place, it was that bad,” Ricky said. “Then COVID just shut us down. We never got to open our doors and be normal because of COVID; because the mandates changed and changed.”
Unwilling to accept the loss of a dream and his passion, the determined couple decided that re-opening in the heart of a sweet small town they call home, would be the best for the company and their family.
“We are just so excited to be a part of this wonderful community and to be able to bring something to it that could be helpful and useful to so many.” Erin said.
The technical industry has always been a part of Ricky’s life and has been his career for 12 years now. Having attended college at Lewis and Clark Community College and Vatterott College provided him many intricate skills and a wide span of knowledge in the tech industry.
Savvy Tech offers services such as: IT services, phone and tablet repair, MSP services, cloud backups solutions, enterprise antivirus dealer, VoIP Systems and integrations, POS (Point of Sale) solutions and service, chromebook repair, Lenovo Dealer and repair center, residential and commercial on-site technical support, CCTV System sales and installation and computer repair.
Savvy Tech can be found on numerous social media platforms including: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You can also reach them directly for appointments or questions, by phone at 618-639-TECH (8324), email him at nck@savvytechusa.com, or you can stop by at 205 N State St. The opening date has not been determined yet but keep an eye out for new signage and an ‘opening soon’ sign while driving on the south end of State Street. Not only will you be satisfied with the hard work and dedication brought by Savvy Tech but also the kind and charismatic team itself.
