After taking 2020 off for the pandemic, cyclists from across the region gathered at Lewis and Clark Community College Sept. 11-12 for Bike MS: Gateway Getaway 2021. In this year’s event, 1,029 participants raised $922,560 to fight multiple sclerosis. Participants enjoyed scenic views of the Mississippi River and the peaceful rural countryside on their 25, 50, 75 or 100-mile journey.
Along the way cyclists stop in Jereseyville. They made a stope at the JCH Wellness Center, which was a rest stop for the MS150 Bike Ride on Saturday. There was alot of extra activity in town as cyclists continued to cruise in as they continued on their journey for the event.
There were many cyclists who were taking extra precautions during their ride, but motorists around Jerseyville were supportive of the riders and took precautions in the parking lot and on the road.
