Nick Baalman, Cole Lorsbach, Brody Caselton and Kiarra Meza washed a van on Saturday, Sept. 18, to help earn money for their senior trip.
Senior year is the year every student from Calhoun High School (CHS) anxiously awaits for. It is the beginning of the end to the best four years of a high school student’s life. It is the year for senior prom, sporting events, cheer competitions, senior trips, clubs and the rest of what senior year has to offer.
The CHS’s senior class is making sure their senior class trip will happen by finding ways to fund their trip.
On Saturday, Sept. 18, the senior class held a car wash fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m by the greenhouse.
“It has been a real steady day for them,” CHS’s senior class sponsor and math teacher Heather Reed said.
“It seems as soon as one car leaves another car is pulling in,” science teacher, senior class sponsor and yearbook teacher Rachel Maupin said. “They are determined as much as we are to make sure they have a class trip this year. Last year, they were unable to have a trip because of COVID and the year before was canceled.”

According to Kiarra Meza, who was there helping her fellow classmates, there has been talk about either going to Branson, Mo., or maybe Cedar Point, Ohio.
Reed mentioned that plans for the trip have not been set in stone yet and are talking about those two destinations among a few others.
