Roger Dewey Dilley | 83 | Kinderhook
Roger Dewey Dilley, age 83, of Kinderhook, IL passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home in Quincy, IL. He was born on March 5, 1938 in Kinderhook, IL to Harold and Effie Kendrick Dilley. He married Marilyn Dodd in 1971 at the Kinderhook United Methodist Church, and she preceded him in death on June 21, 2021.
Roger graduated from Kinderhook High School and was drafted into the United States Army where he served in France during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he attended John Wood Community College. Roger worked on his family farm for many years but worked the majority of his life at Electric Wheel and later Knapheide from where he retired. In his free time, he enjoyed wintering and traveling in his RV with his wife. He also liked fishing and loved his dogs Mia and Fritz. Roger was a member of the Hull Masonic Lodge #910 A.F. & A.M. and enjoyed volunteering for their events. He was a loyal family man and enjoyed photography and cooking for his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Randy Howe of Menifee, CA; two daughters, Tamara Howe of Kinderhook, IL and Beth (Dan) Van Ackeren of Omaha, NE; two grandchildren, Patrick (Lissa) Howe of Montgomery, AL and Rachel Howe of Kansas City, MO; one great grandchild, William Howe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Effie Dilley; wife, Marilyn Dilley; and two brothers, Edward Dilley and George Dilley.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Kinderhook Cemetery in Kinderhook, IL. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com. Niebur Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
