Batchtown kicked off fall by celebrating their Fall Festival, an annual event that originated several years ago to provide new play equipment for the town park and continues to make improvements. This year’s proceeds will help with the maintenance of the Town Building, Village Hall, Town Park, and Franke Ball Diamond and Park. It certainly takes a village and The Batchtown Fall Festival was on Sunday, Sept. 26. The festival ran from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Every year, the festival features interactive games, fall craft activities for the kids, a bounce house, a face painting booth, food vendors and unique local vendors from around Calhoun County selling their wares of retail goods.
“There was a plethora of food at the event which includes fritters, chicken and dumplings, kettle korn, burgers, nachos, cotton candy, lemonade shake-ups and so much more to offer than you think,” Bonnie Synders who was on the Fall Fest committee said.
The festival had a kid’s parade at noon, Hilly Jilly the Clown, a turtle/frog race at 12:30 p.m. and the Cryptkickers Band, who played for most of the festival.
