Let us savor what’s left of September for October is moving right in! It has been quite a pleasant week we have had and looks like going to be the same this one too! Look out for the Wild Wolves as the town will come alive, as this is Homecoming week and many activities will be taking place. The high school volleyball girls will play a game away before bonfire Thursday night and then football boys will be hosting Calhoun Warriors Friday night, this will also be Oaken Bucket Game as this has been a main rival for many years. The dance will take place Saturday evening. Hoping all have a fun and safe week! Come out and support our kids!! Go Big Blue!!
First Baptist Church will be having an outdoor banquet this coming Saturday. Along with some great giveaways and silent auction items, we are also having a pulled pork meal. If that’s not enough, Clay Dyer will be the guest speaker. You will not be disappointed in his inspiring message. Please any and all welcome.
The hunters be huntin’, the deer be movin’, the ducks be flyin’, well ya know all of this gets to gettin’ busy this time of year. Hoping a Happy Hunt it shall be for thee.

Well sure looks like Ol’ Dewey Davis had a very sweet 90th Birthday with his celebration parade and all those giving him lots of hometown love, sure wishing him many more!
Corby and Kayleigh Edwards had a little baby girl, Oakley Lane Edwards, born this past Saturday. Big congratulations to the new parents.
It is with deepest sympathy to hear the passing of one sweet soul, Amanda Pankratz, such a young life she sure was a gift to so many, esp her son, husband and mother, also church family. Some dear friends have stepped up and are putting on a benefit for her family at Pleasant Hill Community Club on Oct. 30. Anyone willing to donate please contact community club members. Condolences to all her family.
Deepest sympathy also extended to family of Joy Hillman.
“May the start of October remind you that you are worthy of new beginnings.” Unknown.
