Hello from Alsey. I have only two, maybe three humming birds left. They left a little early this year. I’ll have to find another way to pass the time rather than watching them fight.
Remember our men and women in uniform and the leaders of our country in your prayers. Others on our prayer list include Chuck Roberts, Rod and Connie Sturgeon, Judy Cannon, Edna Layne, Elma Redmon, Jennifer Harts, Brad Fundel, Lois Hart, Joyce Wells Mann, Karla Cannon, Delores Cannon, Brenda Lawson and Julie Brogdon.
Happy birthday to Cooper Eddinger on Oct. 1; Bronya Sanders and Jeanne Bigham on Oct. 2; Robin Fundel on Oct. 3; Myra Six on Oct. 4; Cole Whicker, Rick Palmer and Sammy Ford on Oct. 5; and Joe Nash and Kalee Sanders on Oct. 6.
Happy anniversary to Ed and Kelly Cannon on Oct. 3.
Winchester Class of 1959 held a 62nd reunion on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Elks Lodge in Jacksonville. There were 24 in attendance, 15 out of 15 remaining classmates were present.
Gals from Winchester Class of ‘59 met to visit and gossip at the Grnad Slam Bar and Grill in Alsey on Wednesday. Present were Sonie Smith, Peggy Clemmons, Julia Whitehurst, Betty Jefferson, Georgia Wilson and Peggy Schultz.
Alsey Baptist Church will have a fall festival and revival Oct. 10-13. Family night on Oct. 11. Revival 11-14 with Bab Kerr singing the message.
Barrow Baptist Church hosted Ladies Luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 21. Between sickness and a bus trip only three were there. Peggy Clemons, Janet Ingram and Carole Wells. We had a chance to gossip about all who weren’t there.
Queen of Hearts drawing at Grand Slam Bar and Grill in Alsey (the old grade school) held each Monday at 7 p.m., sponsored by Mandy Bark and Whine Dog Rescue. Jackpot $1,300.
