Scott County Health Department (SCHD) has announced the availability of the seasonal influenza vaccine to residents of the county.
The vaccine will be available, according to SCHD RN Meghan VanDeVelde, Thursday, Sept. 30 at sites throughout Scott County, as well as at the SCHD building next week.
Clinics available Thursday, Sept. 30 are:
■ Manchester Baptist Church – 9-10 a.m.
■ Alsey Baptist Church – 10:30-11:30 a.m.
■ Bluffs Bread of Love – 1:30-3:30 p.m.
According to VanDeVelde, residents may also contact SCHD for a shot.
“If folks are not able to do those times for a clinic, they may receive their doses at our office the following week of Oct. 4.”
Similarly, parents/guardians of minors, who wish for their children to receive the flu vaccine, should contact the SCHD to make an appointment to get the vaccine.
“For kiddo vaccine, parents and guardians just need to call ahead to us here at the office to set up a time to get that done.”
