Members of the Winchester Civic Group are preparing for the group’s annual Ladies Night in downtown Winchester, to be held Friday, Oct. 29 from 5-8 p.m.
This year’s Ladies Night will be Halloween-themed and has been dubbed by organizers as “Shop BOOtiful Winchester,” to elicit the spirit of the spooky holiday.
Organizers promise an evening full of shopping, food and fun activities for attendees.
According to Winchester Mayor Rex McIntire, the event plays an important role in supporting downtown businesses.
“Anytime you bring that many people to downtown it’s an important way to support our businesses that have been suffering through the pandemic,” McIntire said. “All the second-hand and retail shops benefit.”
The event is designed to support participating local businesses, as residents begin to think about the fall/holiday shopping season.
McIntire said Ladies night is also a good opportunity for the communiy to show off updates to its downtown area and new businesses.
“People will be able to see some of the positive changes,” McIntire said. “And it will be a good opportunity for the Cyclery to showcase itself.”
Among other activities, the Ladies Night event will feature a Civic Group sponsored “Business Bingo” game, designed to encourage attendees to patronize all of the participating businesses.
In addition, attendees at Ladies Night will have a chance to earn a $100 gift certificate to be redeemed at the participating business of their choice.
Interested residents are encouraged to follow the “Shop BOOtiful Winchester” Facebook event to learn more details about participating businesses, specials and the rules of the Civic Group’s “Business Bingo” game.
