Beardstown man receives injuries in accident

A Beardstown man, Armando Perez-Romero, 22 was transported to Illini Hospital Sunday morning after a one-vehicle accident on County Highway 2, commonly known as the Valley City Blacktop.
According to Illinois State Police reports, Perez-Romero, was driving west bound on the roadway, just east of the intersection with 450th Street.
For unknown reasons, his 2002 Honda CR-V left the roadway the right, traveled through a ditch, struck a large culvert, continued across 450th Street and crashed into the stop sign pole.
His injures were deemed non-life threatening.
He was ticketed for: failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, no insurance, and driving while license suspended.
