The Calhoun Warriors come up with the win against the Pleasant Hill/Western Wolves to keep the Oaken Bucket at home!
Calhoun/Brussels Warriors fought hard for their first win of the season on Friday night. The Warriors beat Pleasant Hill with a final score of 22-8. In the second quarter of the game, Cal Hunter, Brody Caselton and Chase Caselton all scored and helped in the victory. “The Old Oaken bucket game is always a tough physical game. These games usually come down to who wants it more,” Calhoun/Brussel Head Coach, Aaron Elmore said. “This game was no different. In this, we found a way to come out on top.”

Sophomore, Gage Bick, gets the pitch out from quarterback sophomore, Miles Lorton, and gains some major yardage for the Calhoun Warriors JV team in their win against the Pleasant Hill/Western Wolves.
Elmore mentioned that the Warriors played really good team defense throughout the game. The team was gang tackling the whole night.
“The score we gave up was due to us not taking care of the ball on offense. Offensively we did some really good things. We moved the ball well all night. Hunter scored on play from quarterback Miles Lorton late in the first half, then Brody Caselton ran in the third quarter to score which was in the later part of the third quarter,” Elmore said. “We had four turnovers, which just about did us in, but we found a way to overcome them.”
Chase Caselton secured the win by catching an 18-yard pass from Lorton early in the fourth to give the Warriors the win.
“Overall, it was a total team effort, several guys made big plays when they were needed.” Elmore said.
