Modern Woodmen Dinner:
Oct. 1: Matching fundraiser dinner for chapter #18050 will hold a dinner for the village of Hamburg at the Illinois River Dock Restaurant. It is a dine-in or carry-out dinner held from 4-8 p.m.
Oct. 3: Matching fundraiser dinner for chapter #1621 and it is drive-thru only for the Knights of Columbus Council 4417 @KC house in Hardin. It will run from 4 p.m. until food runs out.
Oct. 13: Modern Woodmen dinner for chapter #1621 @ Straight Home from 4-7 p.m.
Oct. 20: Modern Woodmen dinner for chapter #18050 at Illinois River Dock Restaurant from 4-7 p.m.
Oct. 27: Modern Woodmen Dinner chapter #12243 at the Illinois River Dock from 4-7 p.m.
Main Street Shopping Event:
On Wednesday, Oct. 6, from 4-8 p.m. There will be a shopping event and the Rastello Room is hosting. The Main St. Shopping will be in the evening from 4-8 p.m.! The first event starts Oct. 6 and the events will continue until Dec. 15! Big John’s Corner will have drink specials! Blue Ridge Farms 4 Square Market will have food specials! Hardin Package Liquor will have a wine basket!
Stop by the Rastello Room to shop your favorite local boutiques and homemade vendors.

Calhoun High School (CHS) homecoming week:
On Wednesday, Oct. 6, There will be a Powder Puff football game and the game starts at 6:30 p.m. and is held at CHS.
On Thursday, Oct. 7, There will be a homecoming parade and it starts at 9:30 a.m.
On Friday, Oct. 8, CHS’s will have their game at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 9, The homecoming dance is at 7 p.m.
Calhoun High School’s (CHS) National Honor Society:
On Friday, Oct. 8, CHS’s National Honor Society is hosting a Chili Supper during the football game. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. until it runs out.
Ambulance Chili Dinner:
On Friday, Oct. 8.,Come help support the Calhoun Ambulance by coming to the chili dinner. It starts at 2 p.m. and it is at Batchtown Hall.
Meppen, Batchtown and Brussels are having Community Wide Garage Sales:
On Friday, Oct. 8 there will be a community wide yard sale and it will be held from 7a.m.-7p.m in Meppen, Batchtown and Brussels.
On Saturday Oct. 9 the community wide yard sale is going on and it is the last day for the yard sales. It will be happening from 7 a.m. -noon.
Kampsville Knap-in:
On Saturday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m.– 4 p.m. The McCully Heritage Project will have flintknapping demonstrations and tutorials, traditional bow making, atlatl range, other demonstrations of primitive skills, native plant walks. Artifact identification from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tent camping, fishing, hiking available at the 940 acre McCully Heritage Project. Showerhouse and restroom available on site. The McCully Heritage Project is a private non-profit environmental center located 1 mile south of Kampsville on Crawford Creek Road.
This event is not for buying, selling or trading of relics. No local chart collections without property owner permission.
This is an outdoor event and will follow current health department guidelines.
Old Settlers Days:
On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9 and on Oct. 10, Old Settlers Days festival begins. Join Kampsville for good food, good music, good shopping, and good times with a historical theme on the banks of the Illinois River in Kampsville, Ill.!
Kampsville Annual Hometown Scarecrow Contest:
On Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 judging for the contest is at 6 p.m.
It’s time for our village to get in the fall spirit and Kampsville is having their annual scarecrow contest once again so get your scarecrows up and you might just win a prize!
Enter your scarecrow/yard decorations no later than Oct. 8 and judging will be held on Thursday Oct. 14 starting at 6 p.m.
You may enter by responding to or contacting Glenda Sidwell via Facebook page. All questions can be answered the same way.

The Village of Kampsville raffle:
The awesome Village Trustee Pat Gotway has donated a beautiful Christmas Quilt to be raffled on Oct. 10. Tickets can be purchased at The Pavillion and the winner will be announced on Oct. 10.
All proceeds go towards town activities such as Halloween Party, Christmas Party and The Kampsville Celebration.
St. Francis of Assisi Fall Dinner:
SFA is having raffle tickets! The dinner is Oct. 17 at St. Norbert Church in Hardin. Carry out style with drive thru or dine in options starting at 11 a.m. $1/ticket or 6/$5. Tickets are at the church office, in the back of church, or ask any parishioner.
Kampsville Trunk or Treatt
On Sunday Oct. 24 from 4-6 p.m. Kampsville will have their Trunk or Treat at the Kampsville Legion Ball Field. There will be treats, games and lots of fun.
