Oct 1:
■ Varsity Football battled the Bulldogs Friday night. Waterloo won 24-48.
■ Boys and Girls Cross Country teams both finished in second place at the Southwestern Invitational on Saturday. Griffin Williams, Drake Goetten, Chloe Kallal and Kate Heitzig won their flighted races. Morgan Johnson, Grace Steinacher and Kateryna Savienkova ran personal bests.
Chloe Kallal, Dax Goetten, Griffin Williams, Drake Goetten and Abby Fraley ran season bests.
■ JCMS Boys and Girls Cross Country teams took first place at the Southwestern Invite.
6 boys medaled:
Logan Wade finished first with a time of 10:51. Dylan Burch finished 3rd with a time of 12:41.
9 girls medaled:
Taylor Woodring finished 2nd with a time of 12:52.
Maleah Derrick finished 4th with a time of 13:12.
■ Freshman Volleyball won two of three games to take 2nd Place in the JCHS Tournament.
■ Varsity Volleyball lost all three matches at the Triad Tournament.
■ JCMS 8th grade Football defeats Waterloo 14-6 on a LONG TD pass with 1.1 seconds left.
■ Volleyball lost all three levels in two sets, but battled hard against the #1 MVC team.
■ Girls Golf placed 4th at Regionals

■ Girls Tennis defeated Alton Marquette, 6-3.
■ Fr/Soph Football remains undefeated after a win against Waterloo, 28-14. They are now 6-0 on the season.
Oct 5:
■ JV Boys Soccer lost to Waterloo, 1-4.
■ Varsity Boys Soccer also lost, 1-9.
■ Cross Country Girls won their triangular meet over Jacksonville and Taylorville. Top ten finishers were Morgan Johnson, Halie Carter, Abby Fraley, Grace Steinacher and Reese Lorton.
■ Cole Martinez won the Boys Cross Country race and Griffin Williams was fifth!
■ Volleyball lost at all three levels.
■ JCMS 8th grade Girls Basketball lost to East Alton in a close game, 37-38.
■ JCMS 7th grade Girls Basketball beat East Alton, 58-16!
Jersey Community High School boys’s soccor beats Roxana
Jersey 8, Roxana 2:
Alexander Hubbell had a hat trick, Adam Kribs had two goals and Drake Goetten, Thomas Kuehnel and Zack Wargo also scored in Jersey’s win at Roxana.
Drake Goetten also had three assists, Wargo had two aand Skyler Crull, Dax Goetten and Evan Lacy also assisted their teammates out. Issac Wargo had three saves in goal for the Panthers. Jersey’s record improves to 5-10-0.
JCHS Girls’ Cross Country finishes well at the Triad Invitational
Morgan Johnson, who was timed in 22:40.78, broke away from the pack and made her move for the Panthers. Haile Carter broke her stride and came in at 24:03.22, Abby Fraley ran hard and had a time of 24:22.66, Reese Lorton’s time was 26:14.26, Grace Steinacher clocked in at the finish with a time of 27:18.22, Kate Heitzig’s time at the invite, was in at 27:35.43. Chloe Kallal crossed the finish line and finished the race with a time of 27:53.47.
Lady Panthers Volleyball lost to Lady Bulldogs at their away game
Waterloo 25-25, Jersey 14-13:
Waterloo won taking the first two sets from visiting Jersey at the Waterloo gym. The Panthers did their best and Kari Krueger had four kills for the Panthers. Kendal Davis came up with five digs, Brooke Anderson gave five assists and Dani Long had two kills and three blocks. The JCHS Lady Panther’s record drops to 8-10.
