“Last weekend we played in the Carlinville Tournament and ended with 4th place. Highlight of the tourney was beating Greenfield. The girls played great and showed what they can do when they play hard as a team,” Head Coach Melissa Zipprich said. “The Freshman serving really shined against Greenfield. Lila Simon’s serve was amazing, serving 19 points with 4 Aces. Lacy Pohlman added another 8 Aces.”
Zipprich mentioned that most of the Lady Warriors’ hitting was led by freshman Audrey Gilman and Kate Zipprich.
“Zipprich had 7 kills out of only 15 attempts and Gilman added another 6 kills. Kate Zipprich also added another 6 blocks at the net. Lila Simon lead with 13 Digs
Kate Zipprich was placed on the All-tournament team for her strong game at the net with 16 kills and 9 blocks in the tournament.”

Aces
Lacy Pohlman assisted her team delivering 11 in all
Haylee Armbruster threw down the ball with seven aces.
Lila Simon assisted the Lady Warriors with six aces in the game.
Kills
Zipprich killed the ball 16 times.
Gilman killed it with 14.
Joy Hurley gave four kills to help out her team
Charleigh Wilson killed the ball too with six kills during the game against Greenfield.
Blocks
Zipprich blocked the net a total of nine times.
Digs
Jaelyn Hill outperformed and gave 29 in all
Lila Simon had 20 digs to assist her team.
On Wednesday, Oct. 6 the Lady Warriors celebrated their senior players with a win against Western in two. “Our seniors are Maddie Buchanan, Emily Wieneke and Charliegh Wilson.” Calhoun head girls volleyball coach Melissa Zipprich said.
Zipprich mentioned she was proud of her senior players this year. She also said she is very proud of how well they have played through the season and how much they contributed to the Lady Warriors’ volleyball progam.
“Last night we played very well against a hard hitting Mendon Unity,” Zipprich said. “Although we lost 17-25, 18-25, I was happy with how hard the girls fought.”
