Fall Pickin Days are this weekend and according to Judi Sutton, who helped coordinate the event, things are looking to be bigger and better than before.
“Several towns that had not participated in a while are back,” Sutton said. “New Salem is not on the map,but there will be food and vendors there. A lot of towns are just having yard sales.
According to Sutton, the weather is expected to be great for the Saturday/Sunday event.
“There is a chance of rain Friday,” she said. “But, Saturday is a high of 64 degrees and partly cloudy, while Sunday is 65 degrees and sunny.”
Although the foliage will not be at its peak colors, Sutton still expects visitors to enjoy the drive between stops.
And the stops should be worth it.
“I’ve talked to some of the towns and they say they are getting lots of calls from vendors,”Sutton said. “And usually this week is busy because Spoon River was this past weekend and if any vendors have leftover merchandise, they want to come to Pike County.”
