Carrollton rolled up more than 500 yards of offense and beat West Central 60-28 in football Oct. 8 at Carrollton.
The Cougars (5-2) will host Routt Friday at 7 p.m. Routt (2-5) lost at Triopia 42-0 last week.
Carrollton, which was ranked No. 2 in last week’s state poll, drove 63 yards in 10 plays and scored on a 1-yard on its first possession of the game.
West Central turned the ball over downs on its first possession. Carrollton needed just three plays to go 42 yards and scored on a two yard run.
Lathan Barnett scored on a 61-yard run on West Central’s next possession. Chance Little ran for the conversion to cut the margin to 14-8 with 3:33 remaining in the first quarter.
Carrollton came back on scored on an eight pass to extend the lead to 21-8 with 2:27 remaining in the quarter.
Ryan Moore scored on a 57-yard run just 42 seconds later. Moore caught a pass from Tyson Brown, and the Cougars trailed just 21-16.
West Central forced turnovers on two consecutive Carrollton possessions. Matthew Hopkins recovered a fumble, and Parker Hoots intercepted a pass. The Cougars, however, turned the ball over downs on each of their possessions.

Carrollton scored 20 points in the final 7:08 of the first half. It scored on a 63-yard run, a 66-yard pass play and a 12-yard run and led 41-16 at halftime.
Carrollton scored on a 24-yard pass play and a 45-yard run to extend the lead to 54-16 with 6:16 remaining in the third quarter.
Landon Barnett caught a 6-yard pass from Brown on West Central’s ensuing possession. Owen Barber set the touchdown with a 47-yard run.
Carrollton scored again on a 29-yard run with 11:51 remaining in the game.
Barnett scored on a 7-yard run with 4:09 remaining to finish the scoring.
Carrollton finished with 524 yards of offense in the game. It gained 357 yards on the ground on 38 attempts and had 172 yards passing.
The Cougars gained 274 yards of offense and had 11 first downs. They rushed for 259 yards on 45 attempts.
Barnett rushed for 101 yards on 21 attempts. Moore rushed for 80 yards on six attempts. Barber rushed for 53 yards on five attempts. Little rushed for 32 yards on nine attempts.
Brown completed four of 10 passes for 15 yards. Landon Barnett caught two passes for 11 yards, and Moore caught one pass for three yards.
Lathan Barnett and Little each had seven tackles. Hoots intercepted two passes in the game, and Hopkins recovered a fumble.
