Health and wellness are very important to this community and the JCH Wellness Center has had the opportunity to serve Jersey county for the past 22 years. On October 4th the business celebrated its 22nd year.
”We are thankful for our members who have supported us through the years. Many members have been with us since the beginning,” Jen Lyles said. “ Tom Smith, Jim Fry and Jen Lyles are full-time staff who have been here since day one and we are proud that many other staff members & instructors have been here for 10+ years. It’s simply a great place to work, a fun environment and a fun job!”
Lyle mentioned that the JCH Wellness Center is a full-service fitness center that caters to all age groups. The center still serves members in their 90’s and they are still going strong . The center also has two year olds coming for swim lessons.
“It’s such a great environment for all! We are fortunate to have 2 swimming pools that provide opportunities for families to swim and for those needing relief from achy, arthritic joints. We offer swim lessons and the lap pool is also available to rent for pool parties. The therapy pool is warmer and handicap accessible so gives people easy access in & out of the pool which is a great asset.” Lyles said.
She also said that group fitness classes keep things hopping around here. Classes are offered in both pools and on land in our group fitness room.
“We have some amazing instructors. They truly love what they do and have a passion for motivating people. Many of our members, men & women both, like the camaraderie of the group setting,” Lyles said. “ They like having a set time to be here for class because that keeps them accountable and many great friendships have been made from these classes. So many options: Tai chi, yoga, zblast, werq, cardio strength circuit, zumba gold, bodypump, water arthritis, aqua fit and more!”
Members can enjoy the laid back and friendly atmosphere of the Wellness Center. Many people come to the center more for socialization than the workout itself.
“Staying socially and mentally healthy is just as important as being physically healthy. Our hope is to provide a safe environment for people of all ages and abilities to come to and feel welcome,” Lyle said.
