From the desk of pastor David Slagle 217-473-1892.
Most mornings I like to take my coffee and cell phone out to our front porch to listen to the birds and watch the squirrels try to be the first in line at the feeder. it seems there is always one that comes in last but somehow makes its way to the feeder. God’s creations are amazing. oh! I almost forgot to tell you about the cell phone. I enjoy listening to gospel music while I have my coffee. This Sunday morning we enjoyed doughnuts, coffee, juice and chocolate milk. I didn’t relize today was pastor apperation Sunday. Judy and I truly appreciate our church family. We are beginning to collect non-pershiable items for the North Greene food pantry. Please be sure and mark your calendar for our Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 14 after the morning servive. Also Dec. 12 is our Walkerville Church Christmas concert with Serenity and Servants’ Hearts. a luncheon will follow. We look forward to worsping with you. It’s always good to come together. We enjoyed a good group this morning. Our text was from 2 cor.112:1-10. We looked at Paul’s vision of paradise and how Paul said in verse 9 that he “Would gladly boast in his infirmities.” in verse 10 Paul says “I take pleasure in infirmities, in reprocaches, in persecutions, in distress, for Christ’s sake-for when I am weak, then I am strong.’’ We need to remind ourselfs it is not about us but Christ. We are to preach Christ not self. Our recent prayer requests are Dan, Ava, Doroty’s son Robert, Diane’s daugther – Debbie’s sister-in-law, Shirley, Jody and Farrell. We invite you to join us each Sunday morning for our 10:30 worship service and Wednesday evening bible study at 6:30 pm. God bless.
