West Central needed two games and beat Griggsville-Perry 25-10, 25-7 in volleyball Oct. 5 at Bluffs.
Bell Brown started the second game with a kill, and Ashley Gregory had two service aces as the Cougars (10-11) jumped out to a 9-0 lead.
Emma Smith had a kill, and Gabby Sievers had two service aces to extend West Central’s lead to 17-2. West Central finished the game with three straight kills.
Brown and Smith each had two kills, and Sievers had three service aces in the first game as West Central took a 9-1 lead. Lily Little had three kills to extend the lead to 15-1.
Karsyn Wardlow had six service points, but West Central lost 26-25, 25-19 against South County Oct. 7 at Waverly.
Wardlow also had two digs for West Central (10-12). Bell Brown had five service points, including one ace, four kills, two blocks, one dig and one assist.
Little had four service points, five kills, five assists, three digs and two blocks. Smith had four service points, four kills, one block and one assist.
Ashley Gregory had two service points, seven assists, four kills, two blocks and two digs. Sievers had one service point, including one ace, and six digs. Anna Sellars had five digs, one kill and one block.
Elise Brown had two kills and two digs. Josie Clayton had one dig.
