Over the past several years, professional wrestling, now referred to as sports entertainment, has become equal parts athletic competition and theatrical performance. World Powerhouse Wrestling has made a following for itself and is coming back to Jerseyville October 23, 2021. Once again, action takes place at the Jerseyville Park and Rec Susnig center, 401 Mound St.
Action will include a WPW title match featuring the champion Curtis Payne taking on Challenger Xavier Frost. WPW tag team champions the Midwest Mercenaries will defend their belts as well as US Champion Jose El Magnifico. Women’s Champion Ms. Hyde will take on challenger Riley Knocks.
World Powerhouse Wrestling has not been in Jerseyville for over a year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Finally, pro wrestling is able to return for spectators of all ages. Masks are recommended for entry to the event. Concessions will be available for purchase and will benefit the Jerseyville park and Rec center.
World Powerhouse Wrestling is an independent wrestling company, as well as a member of the Allied Independent Wrestling Federation (AIWF), a worldwide connection of wrestling federations. WPW performs throughout southern Illinois including regular shows in Collinsville, IL.
