Ronald and Sharon Springer of Pittsfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021. Their weekend was filled with family, pets, and reconnecting with old friends at Sharon’s 50th 1971 class reunion.
Reverend Joe Maynard married the couple at Greenpond Church near Pearl.
Attendants were Mark Allen friend of the groom best man, and Penny Burnell Barton friend of the bride was matron of honor. Junior groomsman was Mark Springer, nephew of the groom, and junior bridesmaid was Corinna Springer, niece of the groom. Ring bearer was Kent Dams and flower girl was Tracey Dugan, both cousins of the bride. Candle lighters were Ed Johnson, brother of the bride, and Randy Dams, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Ron Johnson, brother of the bride, and Russ Barton, friend of the couple.
Ron and Sharon started their marriage farming with Ron’s family. Later they moved to Pittsfield. Ron has driven for DOT Foods for 27 years and Sharon is the owner/teacher of Sharon’s Town & Country DayCare/ Preschool. She has had day care for 42 years and taught preschool 24 years.
They are the parents of two sons, Randall Trent Springer, Pittsfield and Ryan Lee Springer, deceased of Pittsfield. They have two wonderful daughter-in-laws Amy and Tammy Springer as well as seven grandchildren, Taylor, Abby, Rand, Rhett, Madi, Molly, and Reid. They also have two great grandbabies, Haven Jane and Hazel Kay.
The Springers have not retired yet because they both enjoy what they do very much. They love to camp especially in the South Dakota and Wyoming area. Along with their three Aussies named Ace, Deuce, and Trey they enjoy gold cart rides and Polaris rides. Ron and Sharon were 4-h leaders for 11 years, Pittsfield Lions club members for 13 years, Pike Country Leos Advisors for 3 years, and served at the Grand Marshal for 2011 Fall Festival.
