Every local knows that the Homecoming game is not one to be missed. That chilly, rainy evening the Panthers played the Civic Memorial Eagles from Bethalto at the Snyder Sports Complex. High school students wearing warm fuzzy pajama pants and other community members filled the stands and enjoyed hot chocolate from the concession stand while cheering for our beloved boys in blue.
Going into halftime our score was pretty optimistic 14-7, Eagles. The JCHS marching band and color guard led a beautiful performance, the announcement of this year’s Homecoming Court and underclassman escorts and attendants followed directly after. The evening unfortunately ended with a loss for the Panthers, 42-14 dropping us to 2-6 in the campaign and sitting 6th in the Mississippi Valley standings with only 6 teams in the conference.
