Forensic science students in Dr. Claire Coonrod’s class practiced finding and lifting latent fingerprints last week. They used black fingerprinting powder, which they soon discovered was very messy, special black powder brushes and tape to lift the powdery fingerprints. Some even got adventurous and lifted their footprints.

Josie Miller and Josie Clanton got creative and decided since a smart criminal might wear gloves, they might forget and not wear any shoes, so they practiced lifting footprints – their own. They seem very proud of their accomplishment.
