Officer Lyles is a policeman who works for the Jerseyville City Police Department and made a stop to mingle with Willow Rose Rehab & HealthCare on Oct 6 to celebrate National Coffee Day with a Cop.
Many cities and towns across the country hold Coffee with a Cop events throughout the year, with the actual date being the first Wednesday in October.
National Coffee with a Cop Day was Oct. 6, bringing men and women in uniform together with their communities to connect over a cup of joe.
This day in particular allowed for Officer Lyles from the Jersey County Police Department(JCPD) to connect with the residents at Willow Rose Rehab & HealthCare for coffee and bagels.
As a representative of the law enforcement, this meeting provided an opportunity to improve the communication barriers between Jerseyville citizens and local law enforcement.
When JCPD officers hear their community’s needs from the people themselves, the JCPD has a better chance in serving and supporting them.
The community will see that policemen are approachable and are capable of protecting and caring for their communities. Thank you for your service, Officer Lyles.
