The CDC recomends that children should be vaccinated every flu season for the best protection against flu. Ideally, everyone should be vaccinated by the end of October. Children can get vaccinated as soon as vaccine becomes available and the Calhoun County Health Department(CCHD) will be offering drive through flu shot clinics for those 5 years of age and older by appointment only.
“ Drive through clinics will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00pm – 3:15pm in front of the health department located at 210 French Street, Hardin. For those younger than 5 years of age, we will be offering appointments in the office,” Registered Nurse for CCHD Jamie Bailey said. “ For appointments, please call the Health Department at 618-576-2428 and have your current, primary insurance card available as we will need this information to set up your appointment.”
Bailey mentioned that if you are without insurance or your insurance does not cover flu vaccines, we do have self-pay vaccines available.
