Moderna vaccine recipients who received both shots at least six months ago became eligible for a booster and health clinics are offering the booster around Ill.
The Calhoun County Health Department(CCHD) is just one of those clinics who are offering booster shots and the clinic will offer Moderna COVID-19 booster vaccines on Thursday, October 28 from 8:30 – 11:15 and every Monday afternoon in November, both by appointment only.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health’s webpage, “The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) recently reported 15,131 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Ill, including 183 additional deaths since reporting last Friday, October 15, 2021. Out of Ill’s total population, more than 69% has received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose and 54% of Ill total population is fully vaccinated.
“The booster dose is recommended for those who received their last dose over six months ago and are over the age of 65. Anyone who is of age 18-64 with underlying medical conditions or who are at increased risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting. Please call the Health Department at 618-576-2428 to schedule an appointment.” CCHD registered nurse Jamie Bailey said.
