The Carrollton PeeWee Lady Hawks Basketball Hawks sixth grade team obtained their first win Monday night with a 14-11 victory over the Pleasant Hill Wolves. The Lady Hawks are a young team – literally. The PeeWee girls are supposed to be fifth and sixth grade girls, but because of a lack of sixth grade girls, the fifth-grade girls are actually fourth grade girls and the sixth grade team is made up of fifth grade girls. The fifth-grade girls lost 18 to 7.
Saturday morning, the girls played host to the Greenfield Lady Tigers where the fifth grade team lost a heartbreaker 16-14. The sixth grade girls didn’t fare so well as the Lady Tigers didn’t seem able to miss a shot. At the end of four quarters, the score was 34-7 in Greenfield’s favor.
