Carrollton School Board met Monday night, Oct. 18 in a short and sweet meeting. After Superintdent Mark Halwachs informed the board that the new flag pole had been purchased and would hopefully be installed sometime that week, he went into one of the few action items before going into closed session to talk about personnel.
“I’m happy to recommend that we accept the bid from Tri-County FS for out fuel for the coming year,” he said. “I’m just glad that a local business submitted the lowest bid and that we are able to keep our business local.”
Halwachs also recognized Emma Kallal who had the distinction of making it to sectionals in golf.
“That is a very big deal to me and one that deserves some recognition,” he said. “Our golf program doesn’t get near enough recognition but clearly we have some very talented players.”
After a brief closed session, the board accepted the resignation of high school cook Amy Taylor who is going back to school. They then hired Ashley Isringhausen to replace her as high school cook.
The board also approved two new hires – Andrew Roach as a bus driver and Michaela Shanks as a custodian at the high school.
They also approved Kelli Ross as a volunteer assistant junior high basketball coach.
