Halloween is almost here and it is time to dress in your best costume for a family fun event. The Jerseyville Public Library will be at the new City Center Park at the corner of E. Pearl and Jefferson streets at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.
The Costume judging will begin at 10 a.m. Immediately afterward, cash prizes will be awarded for the following categories: Infant – Preschool, Kindergarten – 2nd Grade, 3rd – 6th Grade, 7th Grade – Adult, Group and Pop Culture. Trick or Treating to downtown businesses will take place from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Hay rides and a new activity, the Great Pumpkin Hunt. The Great Pumpkin Hunt where children can search for special painted pumpkins throughout the downtown area and bring them back to the City Center to receive a prize. One pumpkin per person please. The hunt will take place from 11:15 a.m. – 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to enjoy Halloween Music with DJ Brian and yummy Hot Dogs cooked by Royal Banks from Noon – 1 p.m. all at the City Center Park.
Please take note that the Library building will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the 30th as the staff will be working the Halloween Festival.
