The JV Calhoun Warriors have finished their football season. They finished strong this year with seven wins and only lost one game.
“Much was asked of the JV players this past season, so many of them were playing Friday nights and then Mondays. It’s difficult for 15 and 16 year olds to play 17 and 18 year olds, but they competed and did their best. You could tell things were different when they played guys their own age,” Head Coach for the Calhoun/Brussels Coach Aaron Elmore said.”This group wants to be good and enjoys winning. They push each other. The best thing about this past JV season was that there were so many interchangeable parts.”
Elmore mentioned that this year’s team had some heavy contributors to push this team forward. The cause and effect produced this years’ success for this team.
“Each one of them did their job while on the field. Having so many talented players at this level definitely showed on Mondays,” Elmore said. “The team only loss came in a week when our varsity played on a Thursday and due to IHSA rules half of our JV could not participate. Who knows what would have happened, but I think we would have had a good shot at a win.” Congratulations to a successful season and we are looking forward to next year’s season.
