Mid-America Port Commission elects Roderick to vice-presidency

The Mid-America Port Commission (MAPC), a 26-county 3-state port commission elected officers recently, including Blake Roderick of Pittsfield to the vice-presidency.
The MAPC ranks in the top 50 ports in the U.S. based on tonnage shipped. It ranked in the top 12 U.S. ports in the shipment of grain and other dry bulk cargo in the most recent rankings. The MAPC district includes 6 counties in Southeast Iowa, 9 counties in Northeast Missouri and 11 counties in West Central Illinois.
Elected Chairman was Mike Norris, Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Norris is the Executive Director of the Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Council. He also serves as Executive Director of the Southeast Iowa Regional Economic and Port Authority and the Iowa Dept. of Transportation advisory board. He has been involved in river and other transportation planning and economic development projects for many years.
Roderick is the executive director of the Pike/Scott County Farm Bureau in Illinois and the Two Rivers Farm Bureau Foundation. He received a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University. He currently serves on the boards of the Mid-America Intermodal Authority Port District and the National Waterways Conference. Past leadership roles include Chairman of the Board of Illini Community Health Care System, Illini Community Hospital, and IHS Pharmacy; Vice-Chairman, BlessingCare Corporation; Treasurer, Illinois Council for Food and Agriculture Research (C-FAR), director of the Illini Community Health Care Foundation, Illinois 25×25 Coalition, Vice Chairman of the Community Foundation of Western Illinois and Northeast Missouri Pittsfield, Public Library and other community groups.
Elected Secretary/Treasurer was Douglas Aeilts, P.E., Hannibal, Mo. Aeilts is general manager of the Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative, the generating and transmission arm for electric cooperatives in Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa. He is the immediate past chairman of the MAPC board and has served in various positions for several terms. He was first appointed by the governor of Missouri and later reappointed by the county commissioners.
Outgoing officers were Mike McLaughlin, Quincy, past secretary/treasurer and Daniel Wiedemeier, Burlington, Iowa, past Vice Chairman.
