The Winchester Civic Group sponsored Shop Bootiful, otherwise known as Ladies Night Out, with a Halloween twist on Friday, Oct. 29.
Businesses around the square stayed open late with specials and treats for those who came out to visit.
There were chances to win some big bucks on the evening including the chance to win a $100 bingo raffle and a $500 gift certificate from the Civic Group.
The lucky winner of the $100 bingo raffle was Liz Hardy. She will receive a $100 gift certificate good to any local business in Winchester. Donna DeGroot won the $500 gift certificate from the Winchester Civic Group raffle.
Winchester Civic Group Vice President Jackie Kuchy said she was very pleased with the turnout.
“It was chilly and a bit damp, but I thought we had a really great turnout despite the weather,” she said Monday morning. “We just want to say thank you so much for the continued support of downtown Winchester and our efforts to revitalize this town that we love so much and that we call home.”
Kuchy had just one message for everyone who came out in support of Shop Bootiful and for those who might not have heard about it or had other plans.
“Don’t forget to shop local and support local businesses,” she said. “Without you, we cannot stay in businesses. We need all of your support and encouragement to continue to make progress in this great little town.”
The Civic Group is now in the process of gearing up for the great Christmas Celebration scheduled for Dec. 4, which includes the Christmas Parade.
