Main Street Shopping Event:
On Wednesday, Oct. 6, from 4-8p.m. There will be a shopping event and the Rastello Room is hosting. The Main St Shopping will be in the evening from 4-8 PM! The first event started Oct. 6 and the events will continue until Dec. 15! Big John’s Corner will have drink specials! Blue Ridge Farms 4 Square Market will have food specials! Hardin Package Liquor will have a wine basket!
Stop by the Rastello Room to shop your favorite local boutiques and homemade vendors.

Angel Tree Registration: Oct. 1—Nov. 12.

Please be prepared to provide the following for each family: contact name, phone number, address, email (if available), child names & ages. Please be ready to share the following for each child included: gender, sizes (shirt, pants, shoe, coat), clothing items needed, other needed items, wants/likes, favorite colors and anything else you’d like the donor to know. Pickup: Sunday, Dec. 19, 12-2 p.m.
Items will be labeled with childrens’ names, packed in unmarked bags or boxes and available for you to pick-up from Indian Creek Church of Christ in Hamburg. Previously, each family has also received a food basket from the Warrior Food Bank and each child a filled stocking. It is their intention to do the same this year, assuming they are able to.

Nov. 10:
Calhoun High School faculty, staff, and students invite all Veterans and their guests to line up in their vehicles at Calhoun Elementary School at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 8:45 a.m., as the Veterans will proceed to the fairgrounds and drive past the football bleachers where they will be honored by a group of students singing and playing patriotic music.
At the end of the parade, CHS will be providing a drive-thru breakfast outside the band doors for Veterans and guests. Please RSVP your breakfast order by Nov. 3, by calling CHS secretary, Angie Sagez, at 576-2229 or emailing Mrs. Wanda Deffenbaugh at wdeffenbaugh@calhoun40.net. In the event of inclement weather, they will only be doing breakfast pick up beginning at 8:45.
Nov. 11:
The Kampsville American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting a thank you dinner for Veterans and their families at noon on Veterans Day Nov. 11. Turkey, dressing and drinks will be provided.
Nov. 12:
The Brussels High School Civics Club is hosting a Veterans Day Program on Friday, Nov. 12, for all veteran’s in the community. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with singing and there will be a guest speaker, Terry Day. All attending will also enjoy donuts and coffee. Many thanks to the Civics Club for this kind gesture to honor our Veterans.
Also a reminder that on Friday, Nov. 12, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Veterans who signed up earlier with the Brussels Girl Scouts, be sure and stop by St. Matthew Church Hall to pick up your box of goodies. For those who signed up for a bird, the Girl Scout leaders will be in touch with you to schedule delivery.
Nov. 13:
The St. Mary’s School Trivia Night will be happening at Brussels Legion at 6:30 p.m. and start at 7 p.m. It is $100 per team and there are eight people on a team. Contact Rachel Hartman or SMS at 883-2124 to reserve a table.
Nov. 14:
The Hardin American Legion Post 636 and Auxiliary will host its annual Thanksgiving meal for Veterans, members and their families and friends on Sunday Nov. 14 at 4 p.m.
Nov. 14-16:
A Parish Mission titled, “Becoming a Eucharistic People” conducted by Father John Doctor for all parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi and Blessed Trinity Parishes on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings, Nov. 14-16 at St. Norbert Church from 7- 8:30 p.m. followed by refreshments from 8:30 to 9 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
Nov. 17:
The Batchtown Woman’s Club will meet Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m. This meeting is for the Christmas get together with members and they will be brainstorming for ideas.
Dec. 4:
St. Anslems will be having a Turkey and Ham game night at St. Ansl Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m., games begin at 6 p.m. Food and drink will be served. This is to help with the St. Anslems Cemetery Fund.
Dec. 11:
Christmas in Calhoun is Saturday, Dec. 11, 1-6 p.m. on the riverfront in Hardin. We will have a tent set up with free ornament crafts for the kids and a raffle giveaway! Please stop by and see us!
Dec. 12:
Calhoun Entertainment Company’s Christmas Choral Concert will be held on
Sunday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Hardin Presbyterian Church Hall .

We’ve been busy getting ready for the Kampsville kids Christmas party. Mark your calendars.
