Location, location, location. The importance of the location of a business cannot be stressed enough. The Jerseyville Employment Office is moving to its new location on Nov. 16, and will now be located on 120 West Pearl, which is located in the downtown area.
“So, actually, we have been in the county building for the last 21 years, and the county needs that space for early voting. The downtown office will be more accessible than the county building,” Executive Director of Employment Tony Furhmann said. “So we’re pretty excited about this and we’ll have the opportunity to help people like we done before.”
The building is just the right size for their services that are available to the community.
“If someone’s looking for a job or needs help with their resume, or if they need funds for training, all the services will still be available in our new location,” he said. “This is the right size for us. In our new building, we have spots available for group meetings, or if an employer is interested in doing an on site interview, we will have the means to offer that as well.”
Furhmann explained the new building is in a better location for employment service.
“It is located downtown, there’s street parking available and a parking lot in the rear of the building. It is handicapped accessible. Everything there in our new location will offer the same as our old location, and we are looking forward to moving to our new location,” Furhmann said.
