It’s ham loaf season; contact the UMC to get yours
The Griggsville United Methodist Women are now taking orders for their individual unbaked frozen ham loaves. The are $3 each. To place an order call Alice Cripe at (217) 653-5631 or 833-2310, or Linda Patton at (217) 370-8020 or 833-2685.
The Griggsville United Methodist Women’s annual bazaar will be Friday, Nov. 19 in the Good Shepherd Hall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.. There will be crafts and baked goods for sale, including homemade pies, cookies, candy, and tea rings. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with chili, vegetable, and broccoli chees soup, chicken salad, pimento-cheese and ham sandwiches, and desserts will be Texas cake, bread pudding, and angel food cake. Bring your friends and come by for lunch and pick up some goodies for your holidays. Lunch take-out is also available!
The Farmers National Bank of Griggsville is having a coloring contest. The contest will end Nov. 24 at 3 p.m. Winners will be decided Nov. 26. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in two age groups: 0-5 years old and 5-10 years old. Pick up your coloring sheet at FNBG. Please put child’s name and parent’s phone number on the back.
The Quincy Consistory of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry held its Fall Reunion Nov. 6, at the Masonic Temple in Quincy. The 2021 Fall Reunion class chose its name to honor Frank W. Turnbull, MSA due to his past dedication and active participation at his Blue Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the community at large.
Frank was a 70-year member of the Griggsville Lodge #45 where he was past Master and Secretary, and District Deputy Grand Master for the 13th Ward for 19 years. He was a 65-year member of Quincy Valley Consistory where he was organist at many Reunions. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Award in 1998. He was also a 50-year life member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
The following family members enjoyed the evening Banquet: Bruce and Vivian Russell, Mary Barnes, Jeremiah and guest Hillary, and Elizabeth Turnbull.
