The Jerseyville Downtown Country Christmas (DCCF) Festival Day is this Saturday, and Jerseyville is ready to kick off the holiday season in a big way.
Michael Ward, president of the Downtown Country Christmas Festival, said this year’s event is going to twice as big than previous years. There will be more family centered activities and lots more shopping vendors.
Jerseyville Downtown Country Christmas was smaller last year because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, but this year’s festivities will be very interactive and memorable.
DCCF is held on Small Business Saturday and it is a great opportunity for Jerseyville’s businesses owners in the area to open their doors to the visitors for the shopping season.
There will be a beautiful display of lights in Dolan Park. According to Ward, there are over 150,000 Christmas lights displayed at Dolan Park, lights all around Jerseyville City park and in downtown Jerseyville.
Jersey Courthouse and Rotary Park will have parking available to visitors on Diamond Way and people can just cross the street and see the 22-foot animated Christmas tree. The tree’s lights will move as music plays music.
Those displays will be shown at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9 p.m. each evening.
Ward said that this is a free event and it is the seventh year for the festival, plus the second year for the Bright Nights display.
