Jerseyville resident Tristin Haslam recently completed the first mural to grace the city, located in the historic city center on East Exchange Street. Tracy Clarkson, owner of the Still Waters building on which the mural is painted, approached Haslam with the idea of adding the mural to the downtown landscape, and with a little help from a projector rented from the Jerseyville Public Library, along with some hard work and creativity, Haslam can now say that she’s played a part in adding some color to the community. Local artist Tristin Haslam brought a little piece of Nashville to Jerseyville with her own version of a butterfly for visitors and residents to take a picture with as they walk Jerseyville’s historic business district, newly designated as the historic city center. Haslam announced the mural complete on Oct. 17 and since then, folks have enjoyed snapping photos and uploading them to social media using the hashtag #jvilleart.
