On Sunday night, in Kampsville, it was definitely the place to be. The First Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Kampsville officially kicked off the holidays in the village.
Veterans Park was lit up for the holidays. There was Christmas music playing and a hot chocolate bar, with whip cream, marshmallows, sprinkles and candy canes to keep everyone fueled as they celebrated in the cool night air. The night was filled with fun, lots of laughs from family and neighbors and lots of memories were being made. People in Kampsville can now enjoy a beautiful display of lights all because Trustees, Dennis Johnson, Rob Parameter, the royalty, committee members James Palmer, Marcia Agney and Debby Klunk helped make this beautiful display of holiday cheer for the village.
Agney was the official person who got to light up the big tree. She was very happy in her contribution to this magnanimous occasion..She expressed her joyfulness in a posting on Facebook.
“My heart is full and I want to thank everyone who helped make this possible! And everyone who came out to watch our first official tree lighting. It was so fun and it brought so much joy to me ,seeing all the families .We have officially lit up Kampsville and this is what Christmas is all about!” Agney said.
Mayor Wade Gibson mentioned how great this is for the Village of Kampsville and how awesome this is to become an annual event.
“This is an awesome addition this year to Kampsville. I want to personally thank everyone who made this possible for our community.Thank you to Lite Up Kampsville, Board of Trustees, and everyone else involved tonight was a huge success,” Kampsville Mayor Wade Gibson said on his FaceBook post. “Thank you to the Calhoun County Royalty for coming along with the Kampsville Royalty.Thank you all for coming tonight and thank you all for supporting Kampsville.” Gibson said.
The village of Kampsville welcomes visitors to drive into the village and enjoy their lights at night.
