Betty Eileen Smith | 81 | White Hall
Betty Eileen Smith, age 81 of White Hall passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born Dec. 13, 1939 in White Hall, the daughter of John and Ella Eileen Chapman Rabe. She married Harold F. Smith Oct. 15, 1956 in Bowling Green, Mo. and he survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Becky (Ron) Gilmore and Patty (Duane) Westnedge both of White Hall, a son, Chris (Theresa) Smith of White Hall, eight grandchildren, Derrick (Amber) and Joshua (Nicole) Gilmore, Brett (Melissa) and Luke Westnedge, Clancy (Cory) Maher, Carrissa, Kaitlyn and Tory Smith; nine great grandchildren; Madilyn (Derek) Dawdy, Taylor, Landon, Stella, Shelby Gilmore, Oaklynn Parson, Daniel and Declan Maher, and Hazel Westnedge; a sister, Barbara Schnelten of Roodhouse, and a brother, James (Janice) Rabe of White Hall. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Jr. and Ronald Rabe, and a sister, Shirley Day.
She was married to the love of her life celebrating 65 years. She was a very dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. Betty owned and operated her beauty shop in her home in White Hall for many years; she worked as the beautician at White Hall Nursing Rehab. She also was the activity director for several years at the same facility. She also enjoyed seasonal work at Price’s Country Gardens. She enjoyed crafts, traveling, camping, quilting, fishing and painting. She was a member of White Hall First Baptist church and active in Missions.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021 at White Hall First Baptist Church with burial to follow in White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to White Hall First Baptist Church.
