Life is a string of events of meeting people and bidding them goodbye. People change, relationships end and sometimes a person switches their jobs, but people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed or just felt. They have come to assist you through a hard time, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. Then, suddenly, the person disappears from your life. Your need has been met; their work is done.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share or grow or give back. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They give you great joy. Believe it; it is real. But only for a season.
As I write my final column, I just wanted to say to the citizens of Calhoun County, although it has only been a season, I have enjoyed getting to know the people in your county. It has been fun meeting all of you and telling your stories. I have especially enjoyed learning about your history and the unique aspects of your county. I have never met a county who comes together and supports its citizens, the way Calhoun does.
I just want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way and there are alot of people to thank so without naming names, I just wanted you to understand that without your help, whether it was a news tip, submitting a story or submitting photographs from an event, I would not have been able to do my job properly. Thank you for the support and goodwill you’ve shown me, I appreciate it.
Building relationships will teach you lifetime lessons and I have learned a lot from all the townships in Calhoun. I would like to take this opportunity to let the readers know that working for you kind folks and getting to know you, has been one of the best experiences of my life. So, I would like to say thank you for the memories.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
