The Vesper Singers of the Pittsfield First Christian Church will present their 96th annual Christmas vespers at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 in the sanctuary. The program will be “Eternal Hope.”
The choir will be directed by Kayla Boren, with Charlotte Dunham and Becky Fitzmaurice at the piano, and Rodney Gordley on the steel drum. There will also be a live band, consisting of Spencer Boren, Rodney Gordley, Jeremy Schoenherr, and Scott Palmer.This year’s cantata will have a very different feel, including both video and live elements. It will be a multimedia and multi-generational experience!
The group will include 50 adult singers, a youth choir and a children’s choir. Soloists will include Katie Sidwell, Jenny Palmer, Spencer Boren, Ellie TenEyck, Maddison Palmer, Christie Mendenhall, Luke Fesler, Erin Fesler, Rodney Gordley, Grace Henthorn, Terra Schoenherr, Clara Fitzmaurice and Aubrey Douglas. Narrators include Scott Palmer, Kacie Lipcaman, Michael TenEyck, Zack Boren, Katie Sidwell, Julie Boren and Glen Cooley.
This continues an unbroken Christmas tradition begun by the church under Rev. Russell Booker in 1926.
