Clarence ‘Clancy’ John Norberg | 74 | Geneseo

Clarence “Clancy” John Norberg, born June 5, 1947 in Geneseo, IL, passed away Dec. 9, 2021 at his residence.
Clancy was a resident of Caseyville, IL for 53 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna Kay (Wright) Norberg. Nine children, Dr. Desiree’ Norberg, Caseyville, IL, Monica Grasty, Kewanee, IL, Derek (Rhonda) Norberg, Hooppole, IL, Doris Farias, Caseyville, IL, Shanda Norberg Bohannon, Hooppole, IL, Shauna Gallardo, Atkinson, IL, Kristina Farias, Caseyville, IL, Clarence (Clancy) (Mary Kay) Norberg II, Caseyville, IL, Larry Norberg, Carrollton, OH. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends, one sister, Junette Seydel, Iowa City, IA and a brother Irving (Sandra) Norberg, Morton, IL, sister-in-laws, Carla Leveling, Collinsville, IL, Frances Mandeville and Karen Davis both of Caseyville, IL and brother-in-laws, James Mandeville and Chuck McClain both of Caseyville, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Clifton Norberg and Marion Lucille (Huffman) Norberg, father and mother-in-law, Donald and Virginia Wright, sister-in-laws, June (Larry) Burroughs and Vicki McClain, and brother-in-laws, Donald Wright, Red Leveling and Donald Seydel.
He was a member of Caseyville Moose Lodge #4 for 37 years and a Moose Legionnaire, Associate member of the Polish American War Vets, NRA, and OOIDA (Owner-Operator Independent Dirvers Association)
Clancy was an over the road truck driver for 54 years. The last 25 years he worked for Hansen Trucking out of Jerseyville, IL. “The best 25 years of his trucking career.” He was still working full time at the start of his illness. He loved being a truck drive and never wanted to retire.
He was a lover of Country music. He and granddaughter Courtney sang the words to every Patsy Cline song when cleaning and waxing the semi-truck on weekends. A special good bye to his partner in crime, niece, Gina.

Visitation were held at the Allan & Ciuferi Funeral Home, Collinsville, on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Kyle Wright officiating.
Burial followed at Caseyville Cemetery, Caseyville, IL
