“We are one of the 147 providers of the Supportive Living Program in Illinois, which began in 1996. Jersey County is fortunate enough to be one of the counties in Illinois to have this program. The importance of this program is that we have a waiver with the State, which allows Medicaid funds to pay for services in an assistant living environment,” Marketing Manager of Greer Management Angie Heiman said. “Jerseyville Estates is grateful they were selected to be part of the Supportive Living program because we don’t have to turn anyone away because they can’t afford to pay with personal funds. Basically, everyone can afford us because of the personal funds people have and the fact that we are supported by Medicaid. We are income based assisted living. Other financial options are personal funds that can be supplemented with both Long Term Care Insurance and or VA Benefits.”
A person must be 65 years or older to live at Jerseyville Estates. The goals of the Illinois Supportive Living Program include encouraging independence and community involvement, along with promoting privacy and dignity.
“We offer the same services and environment as an assistant living, but with more financial options. http://www.hfs.illinois.gov or Illinois Supportive Living Program | HFS Support Living Program services include meals, housekeeping, laundry, medication management, assistance with daily living, social and health promotion activities, emergency call systems, wellbeing checks and routine nursing assessment. (IHFS),” Heiman said.
“We will always be happy to answer any questions regarding financial options for living in an assistant living community. We have loved being a part of the Jerseyville Community for 10 years and are always looking for ways to give back to our local community and surrounding areas. We are also always looking for opportunities for the local community to come to our place and be a part of our residents’ lives. We are always open for tours.” Heiman said.
